Bigger/better houses will have open slots--people transfer out and study abroad, BUT those spots are already taken as they go to folks transferring in. New houses that need folks will take folks. Not a bad thing. Get in one and make 3-4 good friends and you'll have pretty much the same experience as bigger houses.
