Dropping after Bid Day is MUCH different than dropping out during the week. I wouldn’t bring it up, even if you’re asked “why you wanted to rush” or “why you want to join a sorority”. But many chapters will know you de-pledged. Sorority girls are friends with other sorority girls and the chapters who carried you deep into the week last year will likely remember you & remember you pledging somewhere. If the reason is something that is FULLY resolved (like a sick parent who is now well) and does not reflect badly on your character (like you decided you were a bad “fit” for the chapter after 1 week and not making any effort to make friends)your rec writers should broach the subject in their recs. That way you won’t have to have awkward convo after awkward convo during your parties.
