Rush week is NOT real life. Real sorority life is when your sisters are there when you're bawling your eyes out over a breakup or a death in your family or not getting the internship or job you had your heart set on. My best memories of living in the house are the most basic things like always having someone to watch tv with or raising the pantry after getting home on Saturday night or having someone to run up to Sonic with you while you're cramming for exams. The date parties and Greek events are definitely fun but the most fun is having a built in support system. Heck, for advices work week is 1000% better than rush week because it's pure 24/7 bonding time. You'll find out at some point in college that even the girls who you barely know in your chapter will do anything for you because you share letters. This week is all about the chapters and pnms trying to figure out where everyone belongs. Try to follow your heart every day but also trust that the chapters are inviting and releasing pnms based on who they feel is the best fit for their sisterhood- and I don't mean who is the prettiest or most successful but whose personalities compliment and add to the chapter. It's not a perfect week and it's not a perfect system. Just try to navigate this week with that in mind.
