The question isn't whether they're "fratty" enough to be a fraternity at A&M. They're not, but that's not the issue. The issue is that they came out of nowhere, offered cheap dues (under $100 the first semester from my sources inside Pike), no pledgeship program, and act like they are and indeed deserve to be THE top fraternity. That is not okay in any book. You get to the top by earning it over a period of time, not by springing out of the ground overnight and grabbing up as many "pledges" as you can. They may have the respect of sororities across campus, but that's not what the definition of a top tier fraternity is. You have to have respect from the other FRATERNITIES on campus. If you can't even get that, you don't deserve to call yourself a top tier fraternity. You don't create your own status, other people do. And that's why Pike is not and should not be a top tier fraternity at Texas A&M University.
