<strong>Subject:</strong><br />serious question <br /><br /> Poster Message:
Ok so I’ve seen this question asked multiple times on this website. In the fall I will be a sophomore transfer to OU. I have already signed up for rush and have recommendation letters to every sorority on-campus. I have a pretty full resume and an excellent transfer GPA and transcripts. I am also a legacy to one of the sororities on campus. I have had multiple alumni that have written my letters tell me that it’s going to be very very difficult to be taken in by a sorority as a sophomore since most of them target freshman who are able to offer a four year commitment instead of my three-year commitment . They have all told me I am the perfect candidate for rush based on my transcript and resume and that if I was a freshman I would be a no brainer but the only factor that could have a major impact is my grade classification. I respect these alumni’s honesty And opinions but can’t help to wonder if something has changed regarding transfer rush candidates since they have been an active member. While I have tried to remain optimistic, hearing this multiple times is making me doubt. Like I said before I have seen this question asked multiple times on this website and most of them have the same answers “ just go in and experience rush and see what happens.” While I admire those peoples optimism, I want a real answer. I want to know if I have a serious chance of getting a bid from a sorority and what sororities look for in upperclassman rush students. Please be honest if I have a serious chance because if not I do not want to waste my $180+housing cost and any other cost. I was and still am very excited for rush but I can’t help hearing this multiple times start to get into my head now. Please be honest. And for all of you that have read this far, thanks <3.
