I think it has to do with when they were founded/recolonized at Ole Miss. The houses with the older dates are thought to be more prestigious. Chi Omega at Ole Miss was founded here in 1899, disbanded in 1912, and recolonized in 1926. Tri Delta at Ole Miss was founded in 1904, disbanded in 1912, and recolonized in 1926. Phi Mu at Ole Miss was founded in 1926 and never disbanded. Delta Gamma at Ole Miss was founded in 1927, disbanded at some point, and recolonized in 1938. Kappa Delta at Ole Miss was founded in 1927 and never disbanded. Kappa Kappa Gamma at Ole Miss was founded in 1947 and never disbanded. Alpha Omicron Pi at Ole Miss was founded in 1958 and never disbanded. Alpha Delta Pi at Ole Miss was founded in 1961, disbanded in 1997, and recolonized in 2013. Pi Beta Phi at Ole Miss was founded in 1962 and never disbanded. Kappa Alpha Theta at Ole Miss was founded in 1979 and never disbanded. Alpha Phi at Ole Miss will be founded in 2015.
