One of the biggest benefits of Greek life is the social aspect of it. You learn how to communicate in large groups, how to find common interests and goals, how to fit in, how to present yourself.... Even in the simple act of going through recruitment I learned how to market myself! These lessons will come in handy when interviewing for jobs or presenting yourself in politics. Another benefit would be the philothropic aspects. I am learning how to raise money and how to ask others to donate. Whether you plan to be a stay at home mom raising money for the PTA or whether you are raising campaign money for your presidential run, these lessons are worthwhile! The leadership positions you have available to you when you are in a sorority will also help you later in life. Whether or not you are president, or rush chair, or Greek activities chair, or housing chair, or whatever, your resume will reflect all this. There are literally 100's of leadership positions you can participate in over the next four years. Confidence is another benefit of Greek life. Sororities give you confidence to go out there and be yourself, whether it's on the dance floor at a fraternity house, or up on stage during recruitment skit, I'm doing things in my sorority that I wouldn't ordinarily do without my sisters by my side. There is no sitting around and moping when you have literally 100's of girls you can call! Finally, I am making friends with girls from all over the country! A sisterhood that I never know when it will come in handy. If I find a job in Atlanta, or Charlotte, or Dallas, or Nashville, etc, I will have sisters already living there who can help me when I need a friend! ....and these are just my reasons. Every girls will have her own reasons as to why Greek life is way more than four years.
