This years pledge class will be 150++ girls. You can't possibly be best friends with them all! Most girls hang out in cliques with about 10-20 girls. You will be in the dorms for 6 weeks before rush even starts. You will bond with the girls on your floor. On bid day, your entire floor will have received bids to different sororities. It's hard to seamlessly transition to an entirely new friend group. I'm actually better friends with the girls from my floor than I am with girls in my sorority. I love my sorority, but with that many girls, there are a lot of forced friendships. As another poster said, you can't pick your pledge class. I LOVED the older girls who rushed me, but couldn't stand half the girls in my pledge class. In life, you don't get 150++ best friends. You get a small handful of true friends you can count on. You will find friends, it just won't be your entire pledge class. That only happens in the movies!
