I tried to have at least two recs for each house along with my resume and photo. If you can't find two, one very good letter should suffice, but you need to make sure you have at least that!! Try very hard to get two or more! I didn't have recs for two houses that I thought I fit in well at and was not asked back. It all comes down to points, and recs are worth a lot. Even if the girls in a house really like you, they can't do ask you back if you have no points. I honestly have no idea what a letter of support is or how it differs from a recommendation letter. I was fine without having any, but if you can get some, go for it! They will only help you.
