Here We Go Again!

Another year with same story of girls being told they were in the top girls on bid list and others were below her who got bids to their house. Girls on BOTH sides of recruitment need to realize that if you go (invite PNR back) to pref and you sign a bid card, that means you could be at either house on Bid Day! Girls need to stop thinking that if they were not wanted in the sorority if they ended up at their 2nd choice. That's not true. It just means that there are many factors that go into the final rankings and you matched up with your 2nd choice. The actives don't see the final list, so they don't know that something is a mistake. To this girl and the others who have been told there was some kind of mistake, it's not the end of the world that you got your 2nd. Doesn't matter if you were a legacy or if your brother's girlfriend is in there, it happens. You're not the only girl on campus who has been told it's a mistake. What else are they going to say? Actives STOP saying this to girls! Even if you are confused on how someone did get a bid and others did that wasn't expected, you're only making the situation worse. Rule is that you can't do anything for a year unless you dropped out before Bid Day. If our greek office allows that sorority to figure out a way to make this girl happy, they better be prepared for hundreds of other parents to demand action if their daughter was told it's a mistake they didn't get their 1st. Make the best of it and BE HAPPY!
