A snap bid is handed out in this situation ONLY: a chapter that does not make quota can offer snap bids to PNM's who did not receive a bid or dropped out earlier in the week. Snap bids are handed out before Bid Day and a pnm who accepts a snap bid will attend Bid Day with the pledge class. A house that snaps up to quota is considered to have made quota. COB (continuous open bid) happens when houses are below a certain number of girls and they can have rush events outside the formal recruitment period in January. If chapters are participating in COB, it won't start for a few weeks or months. Snap bids are NOT COB. Snap bids are pretty rare. If a chapter cut you this week, they aren't going to offer you a snap unless maybe you just barely missed the GPA cutoff and havd a ton of actives pulling for you before grafes came out.
