No fraternities are on IU property…all are on private property. Check the Bloomington GIS system if you don’t believe me. It just takes leadership and the willingness to stand up to BS to find a way forward. But at some point, the fraternities will need to break from IU. IU hates the fraternities at this point and if they aren’t willing to treat chapters fairly, what benefit is there in continued recognition from IU? I’ve probably known 500-1000 guys who were in fraternities at IU, I’ve yet to hear a single guy extol the virtues of IUs administration or cite it as a meaningful component of their fraternity experience. However, IU takes the men’s chapters for $40 a man per semester. If you assume 125 guys average a chapter times 25 chapters (varies from year to year), that’s a quarter million dollars they are extracting from you annually. Do you think you are getting your money’s worth from IU?
