You're right - you join a chapter for sisterhood, however, many PNMs are 18 yo Freshman with no clue. They see ish on this site, they hear stuff on their dorm floors and from guys going through rush in the fall. Many lack the maturity to make a choice like which chapter to join based on the "right" things and instead focus on the "rep" of houses, the way a house looks and what they've seen on Instagram. Unfortunately, the recruitment process is also a whirlwind and they don't really get to know many girls in a chapter or much about the chapter, but they have to make a choice. Maybe we need to move to a different recruitment model.
