Giving out snap bids isn't the same as COB (aka informal). The other thing is that AGD's COB tends to be pretty quiet and you need a solid connection to get in. If OP doesn't have a solid connection, her only real option are the Open COB events, which are all great chapters as well that will afford her opportunities for social stuff as well as a lifetime of sisterhood, leadership, and development as well.
