If you didn’t get a bid, that doesn’t say anything about you, just means you probably didn’t know anyone. The biggest issue with IU is the fact that the school is too big and kids know way too many kids before coming here, not making it a very good or normal college experience. If IU accepted half as many kids the school would be much better overall and you would actually have to earn your way in, and not just take the easy way out and go to a college with hundreds of kids from high school. If you’re not in Greek life, good luck with your social life though because there is absolute nothing to do here other than Greek life. At other schools rush is 3-4 weeks, with several different rounds where you hear either way. Kids aren’t signed weeks before rush and connections aren’t an important factor. At another school you could be in the top house, but if you went to IU and didn’t know anyone you would likely not get a bid anywhere.
