I'm pretty sure that a lot of houses give an advantage to freshmen in membership selection in some way because it's usually thought of as a given that recruitment is harder for sophomores that doesn't mean it's impossible...it's just that if you are looking at the same two people and one is a freshman, a ton of sororities would give preference to the freshman and that's how their membership selection is set up
