My daughter rushed a few years ago as a Sophomore. She was in-state transfer and had very few friends she knew in any of the houses. She had good GPA and reqs, but had no pre-rush concept where she wanted to be or who would want her. After the first round, she got asked back by almost of all of the top houses. As she went through rush, she kept getting the houses she wanted back. Considering what we were told prior to rush, we thought it was going to be a challenge to be considered for many of the competitive houses so her expectations were low. In the end, she got her top choice and was incredibly happy with how it turned out. What we came to realize is that the quality of the person and the things you do prior to rush (i.e. grades, service, personal choices and personality) are what matter. Her being a sophomore wasn’t an issue. Hope this is the case for you!
