Thought you would find this better if I just replied to your message. To all those moms out there, please remind your daughters that there are two new sororities coming back. One of which is recruiting next year (AOII). If all your daughter wanted to go Greek and didn't get a bid then she can easily attempt to rush this process or COB. However, if your daughter is just upset that she couldn't get into a top tier sorority than maybe Greek life isn't for her. I am in what's considered a bottom tier sorority, I am a biomechanics major, & my freshmen year I preffed at ZTA, ADPi, and AXO and didn't get a bid. Was I upset? A little. Was I embarrassed? No. Because Michigan is not only Greek Life. My year as a GDI was fantastic because I got to meet extraordinary people I wouldn't have meet if that first year I was in a sorority. I grew to find out who I was as a person instead of the person I felt like I needed to be so the older girls would like me. As a mom, I would be ecstatic to know my daughter was developing into a young women you knows how to turn bad experiences into good ones. So instead of bashing the system just be supportive of your daughter with whatever she chooses to do. And mention the idea of creating her own legacy next year through rushing the new sorority if the formal recruitment process isn't for her.
