Yeah I know a lot of kids who have an extremely rough first semester. Maybe take a way lighter course load next semester. I don't think frats should care (I know a lot of guys in my frat that completely bombed 1 or 2 semesters. Just keep in mind that pledging is going to take up a lot of time, especially if you pledge a higher tier frat. I took only 12 credits while pledging (all 100 or 200 level), so I could manage but I was always sleep deprived, nervous, anxious, and probably had mono. Just know that managing all of that with a hard schedule is going to be hard
