The division and superiority complexes are built into the culture. Everyone wants to be better, hotter and cooler than the others, and this is a result of that. Hard to change when every four years the community basically resets and is influenced heavily by Western’s party / college culture. My sibling was in a fraternity 6 years ago and said it was the same back then as it is now and these same concerns were brought up but because everyone moves on eventually nothing gets permanently addressed. We’ve always had a sour reputation at Western and frankly it’s warranted based on everything that’s happened.
