It's about space. We're excited about the girls, but many, if not all, of the sorority houses that are at UNC are not equipped to handle this many new and active members. We are already having to have chapter in lecture halls because of fire codes before this new pledge class arrived. Another thing is that bigger pledge classes mean less cohesion, and like another person said, makes it feel less like a sisterhood and more like an institution, which is not what many active members want.
