That's not how recruitment works. The number of pnm's doesn't change how the algorithm works, it is percentage based, not hard numbers based. Some chapters have to release a higher percentage of pnm's at every round than others based on the algorithm numbers they are given, and the sororities are doing the choosing. If there were fewer pnm's in the process the likelihood of getting cut from any chapter would be the same odds, it's not 'more selective' or 'harder' or whatever with more pnm's going through. There is not a preset number of bids, quota is not set until after pref depending on how many pnm's sign cards. More pnm's = more bids, fewer pnm's = lower quota. If you rank both pref houses you are guaranteed a bid to one of them and the algorithm tries to match you with your #1, although no guarantees. The vast majority of pnm's who don't finish the process are the ones who drop out of recruitment, not because they didn't have choices. Give the place where you are wanted a chance. You aren't getting a snap or a cob.
