Anyone else get pissed when they see the phrase “okay, (insert sorority or fraternity name)” in the discussion forum. It is usually the case that the named fraternity or sorority did not in fact comment that comment, and you are just discrediting the opinion of someone in a different fraternity/sorority by saying they are self ranking. It is really annoying, and I see it ALL the time. If I comment something about a fraternity/sorority, it doesn’t mean that I’m from that fraternity/sorority. If you are someone that uses the phrase “okay (fraternity/sorority)”, I want you to realize that just because this site is anonymous does not mean that the only people commenting about a fraternity/sorority are in that said fraternity/sorority. This kind of thinking makes no sense, places no trust in the opinions of the people in the U of I Greek community, and is just plain toxic.
