I'm in another house, but if you vibe with them, join. Brotherhood/friendship is by far the most important thing. Reputation is not that important, especially once you are no longer a freshman. As far as girls, if you have game it matters 0% what house you are in. If you need letters to pull, then that is a different story, plus unless it is purely physical you have to wonder whether they like you or your letters.
