We seriously doubt that you are a student at Illinois. ANY student at Illinois would be smart enough to recognize that the last paragraph is sarcasm and a not-so-subtle warning not to equate bar presence with fraternity values or prestige. We also doubt that you were ever in a fraternity here. Men in fraternities would never characterize it as "douchy" to put their participation in their fraternity on their resumes. In fact, membership in a fraternity or sorority tells a potential employer that you are socially adept, outgoing, and that you have taken the opportunity to learn how to better interact and influence different types of people. Our message is for the students AND it is simply this - don't get drawn into the fallacy that people like you push on this website that a fraternity's stature is somehow linked to its membership's bar attendance.
