A group of us old Illinois Alums(from different fraternities)decided to check out this website after Homecoming. One thing that struck us was the purported "rankings"of the fraternities that seemed to be based on "bar pull" or being self-proclaimed Kings of the so-called "royal bar crawl." To be clear, NONE of the national fraternities (or sororities) has "bar pull" as a founding principle. Because all of us are businessmen, we thought we'd enlighten you as to "who" may be spreading this idea that "bar pull" equals fraternity greatness - that would be BAR OWNERS and managers. And, unfortunately, some very naive and immature students are duped into participating in this insulting affront to all fraternities (including their own). They think that their fraternity's reputation resides in "bar pull" magic, and it's what makes them the "in crowd" at Illinois. So here is some advice from your alums. For those of you who think "bar pull"is a high indicator of your fraternity's strength, please do us a favor. Put in bold on your resume that your fraternity is 1 of the top 3 in terms of "bar pull" at Illinois. It will make reviewing your resume so much quicker.
