i'm out of state and know no one and was so unprepared... i'm a legacy of one of the "lower tier" houses which i feel certain would accept me if i wanted it but i don't even want to be in it. meanwhile i was dropped from a house i loved, but i only realized after the app process that i have a family friend who was in that sorority. and i got... fewer houses than most people. not a very small number but few enough that it makes me feel like i should've been more prepared. :-/
