No, you can certainly get a bid without knowing people. You are not alone, more and more students are coming from out of state and it's more than 50% now, the old ways of mostly Texas girls are changing. A few sororities still tend to fill classes with girls that members already know from high school or hometown but other sororities are looking for quality and who best fits with their vibe. Remember that the rush process is not about getting rid of pnm's, it's about giving every pnm her best chance for a bid, and there is not a preset number of bids to give out; the more pnm's rushing and staying in the process means more bids and larger nm classes. See who you get back for Philanthropy and focus on those chapters. When a sorority releases you, don't look back, look forward to the choices you have, remember they are choosing you. Stay with it and go to pref! Don't listen to talk of ranks or what frat boys say; trust your gut and rush for YOU; every sorority here has great members and offers a once in a lifetime sorority experience.
