As far as I can tell, it's a choice between 1) Top Tier / you want that constant ego-boost of "status" or popularity, and 2) Lower Tier / you want real friends. I'm not going to be judgmental and say one is better than the other. Some girls honestly find their self-worth in who they associate with. If you need that, you be you. But personally, I'm seeking ride-or-die friendships and college memories to last a lifetime. So, lower tiers are feeling more authentic so far in the process.
