I’m a guy and when I was a freshman I went to parties for the social interaction. Drinking and smoking was fun yes, but they were things that are just... there. Alcohol calmed my nerves and made it easier for me to talk and have a good time, but it was just icing on the cake. I still enjoyed the parties (at frats where they guys were nice) when they ran out of alcohol but that’s just me
