It all comes down to your priorities. If things like image and social status are super important to you, and heavy partying and drinking are your scene, then, yeah, maybe a lower won't be for you. On the other hand, if you're in it to find sisterhood, a supportive community, and view college as a healthy balance of academics and social life, then checking out the lower tiers is definitely worthwhile and I think you'll find lots of welcoming women. Finally, this post isn't intended to be judgemental. It's just how it is. We all have different priorities in life and want different things. I don't see tiers as high or low, or good versus bad, just different. I've yet to meet any girl in any sorority here, high or low, who doesn't love where she is. I say, go for it! See what the "bottoms" have to offer. Honestly, they're all under-rated and under estimated, but, sadly, that's just how the Greek community is up here.
