Honestly, it really depends on your situation. Formal rush is much better if you have not been through the process. It gives you a chance to meet every chapter and find your home. However, if you are a sophomore and have been through that process unsuccessfully, informal gives you a chance at sisterhood without the commitment/hassle/emotional roller coaster that formal can be. It is much more relaxed.
