During rush this year it was very clear that a lot of PNMs that would have typically gone KD did not want KD. Yes, they’ve won awards and look strong on paper, but reputation matters and they have not built a good one in terms of how they treat their own members or how they interact with other chapters. That is widely known on campus. I don’t really understand why people are going after AXO and DZ for having a strong recruitment year...it’s just the truth. KD did have to give snap bids and their new member class ended up smaller than usual, and instead of showing humility they acted arrogant and scoffed when girls chose chapters they used to look down on like Zeta, AOPi, or DZ. And while it’s true that Zeta and AOPi had terrific new member classes, it’s still a reach to rank them above AXO and DZ. A lot of people have been saying these rankings are more about which frat guy happens to like them at the moment than anything to do with recruitment results or sisterhood. Honestly, why are we still acting like middle schoolers when it comes to men and putting down the girl a guy chooses? That mindset just makes the whole Panhellenic community look petty.
