11. PNM's don't really get to choose, they only get to rank. The sororities do the choosing, and are given a maximum number they are allowed to invite back each round, and not one single person over. If a PNM isn't ranked high enough to be above their cutoff line then she is released. It doesn't mean the sorority didn't love her, it doesn't mean she wasn't good enough, it is purely by the numbers, and many actives get upset about who gets dropped just as those PNM's do. The sororities do not know the PNM's ranks of them so that is not considered in their decisions, and the algorithm does not even consider the PNM's ranks of the sororities unless a PNM would receive more invitations back than the round allows. That is the only time a PNM's ranks matter, and in that event, her lowest ranked house(s) will drop off her schedule. But that is not at all the way happens FOR MOST PNM's, who will find that the algorithm keeps giving them back houses they ranked low so as to offer as many houses as possible to give the best chance for a bid. YOU ARE GOING TO EXPERIENCE GETTING DROPPED. This is hard to grasp for high achievers who are used to being top in high school. You can either give the sororities who actually want you a chance and try to find a sisterhood and social life with them that may be the best thing you never knew you could have, or you can get pissy and drop out and say all kinds of things about it being rigged and unfair and blah blah blah. One more time for the back: YOU ARE GOING TO EXPERIENCE GETTING DROPPED. Deal with it.
