Virginia Tech is slowly but surely returning to a Greek free campus and for what? We have one of the tamest and most community friendly Greek communities in the country and yet Tech only gets stricter and stricter without any major incidents to cause that (and we already have the strictest rules around). The worst part is that most organizations get in trouble for the BS of alcohol violations. Fraternity parties provide support systems and DDs that are much safer than random club’s parties or Pheasant run. Many other Schools acknowledge this and do not punish their Greek organizations for providing alcohol at parties.
