fun while also being dedicated to their chapter and school. Their philanthropy focuses on domestic violence awareness, and they put a lot of work into it. They also have a really strong national reputation. Girls might not go into recruitment insanely excited about Alpha Chi, but a lot of them end up loving it once they actually meet the girls. I would say they’re on the rise. Bottom Gphi: If any house is on the rise, it’s Gphi. They’ve historically had a lower-tier reputation, so they sometimes have to fight that perception with PNMs, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they move into the middle range soon. The girls are fun, pretty, academic, and really involved in Panhellenic. They have a wider mix of personalities than some chapters, which honestly isn’t a bad thing. I would definitely keep them on your radar because they have some amazing girls. Theta: Another house I don’t know a ton about, but they have by far one of the best house locations. Almost every Theta I’ve met has been super sweet. They’re generally less like the stereotypical sorority girl and tend to be outdoorsy and involved in a lot outside of Greek life. I don’t hear as much about them during recruitment, but they seem to do a good job. They also have a strong national reputation and a huge philanthropic presence on campus. KAT Walk is so fun! Tri Delt: A smaller chapter compared with some of the others on campus, and they’ve had a harder time meeting quota. The girls I’ve met are genuinely really sweet, and I wish more people would give them a chance instead of immediately judging them based on reputation. The girls who are actually in Tri Delt seem to really love their chapter and have a lot of fun together. They aren’t as socially prominent as some other houses, but that doesn’t make them a bad option at all. I’m hoping they have a great recruitment this year! In Short Every house has something great to offer. Some are more social, some are more academic or outdoorsy, and some have more drama than others, but there are amazing girls in every chapter. Go into recruitment with an open mind. Don’t get too caught up in rankings or what other PNMs are saying. The “best” house is ultimately the one where you genuinely like the girls and can see yourself being happy. And PNMs: don’t go into recruitment terrified about hazing. The sororities can’t make you do anything you don’t want do.
