SATs and GPAs are similar to involvement, sociability, and general presentation/care of appearance. The tiers COULD be quantified by seeing exactly how many PNMs wanted to keep/drop each sorority each round. It's a superficial process, but it exists. Just because there are no published statements from impressive authorities doesn't make something exist. In the same way money is just an idea or concept. The only reason it matters is because we say it matters. We say that these numbers reflect a certain amount of goods and services. Just because something is less than utopian, doesn't make it go away. Tiers exist because we say they exist. And please, use a thesaurus. (Ex: juvenile, vain, trivial...)
