Every sorority does their own matching, but in early rounds they'll probably match you by interests. Everyone you talk to will magically have a similar major, be from the same hometown, played the same sports as you in highschool, etc. In later rounds, the girls that rushed you in earlier rounds might try to match you by personality. During round 3 or pref night, you might talk to someone who the chapter could see as your big (you ultimately choose your big yourself, so whoever becomes your big is up to you). If you know someone in the chapter already, they might pair you, but they probably won't until pref night. They want as many sisters as possible to meet you and have an opinion on whether or not you should be in the chapter, so it doesn't make sense to have a friend rush you. They already know who they want by pref night, so they might pair you with your friend to make you feel more comfortable. Hope that helps, and good luck during rush!
