Middle Tier

I’m going to be a senior n a middle-tier fraternity, and, other than my grades, it’s been the best thing I’ve done at UF. I’ve had fun; I’ve had great role models; I’ve met a lot of girls; I’ve been given leadership positions; and I’ve made friends that will last a lifetime. My friends who didn’t join a fraternity missed out on a big part of the full UF experience. So, you’re worried what people here on Greek Rank will think of you if you don’t join ATO or Machi? Get over it! It doesn’t matter. When I arrived at UF from a small town in the Panhandle, I wouldn’t have fit in with those guys even i f they’d have had me. I viewed them as the big city, rich guys. Why, I didn’t even own Khakis or Topsiders. And my social life had been limited to the church youth group . But, a mid-tier fraternity took me in and embraced me, and I, like a lot of the other guys in our PC, followed the lead of the older-member role models and raised our social skills to a new level. I rather think that I could get a bid to ATO or Machi if I were only a freshman now with the things I’ve learned. You’ll find the same thing in all mid-tier fraternities. We all have guys that are every bit as solid as the best of of the top-tier guys, but it’s also fair to say that most of us have enjoyed ourselves more by starting out where we have. Finally, if you haven’t already seen it 20 times, rent the movie Animal House. Yes, it was a bottom-tier fraternity, and what did they think of the top-tier fraternities and sororities?? It’s those same types today who spend all their time here on Greek Rank ranking themselves.
