Hey! As someone who didn't rush their freshman year I feel you. Bid week, big/little, and homecoming week are all rough when you regret not rushing. When we get back from winter break you'll hear about exactly who is participating in spring rush. This usually happens at the end of January. Honestly I would wait until formal rush next year for a lot of reasons. You wont be missing much in the spring so this will give you more time to save up for dues next year. There are a lot of activities in the fall that will allow you to bond with your pc and the rest of the chapter that that aren't available in the spring. While a lot of sororities do participate in spring rush, a lot of them don't. This eliminates a lot of amazing girls that you may get along with even more. Spring rush is a bit like fraternity rush in that you only go to the houses that you choose. While this may seem better I promise it isn't. I ended up in a house that I never would have picked if I wasn't made to go there. You make friends in other sororities during formal recruitment and appreciate every chapter more. This being said, I haven't met a single girl who participated in spring rush and got a bid that wasn't happy! Hope this helped :)
