Per NPC (the governing board of the 26 NPC sororities), once a member is initiated, she Can never join another NPC group. If you drop out before you are initiated, you can rerush at the next formal recruitment ( if you rushed during formal the previous year). In other words, if you are not initiated before you drop, you can rush the next year during formal recruitment. You will have to attend a party at your former house, which can be awkward, but they will probably drop you and you won't have to see them again. But you will be a sophomore, which will make rush more difficult for you, so you had better get involved on campus, and have great grades.
