The sad reality is we do judge on first impressions, and looks do matter. I think the OP is overstating what you need to do, but eating healthy and exercise can only benefit you! You do NOT need extensions or a fake tan, lol.If it is humid and your hair frizzes (like mine), maybe a keratin treatment would do the trick. I would say if you have acne, go see a dermatologist ASAP to clear it up. Complexion is huge. Dress to flatter. Keep in mind that even the top houses have no more than about 10 stunners per pledge class. As long as you are cute and have a great personality, you will have a shot! For girls that are overweight or objectively 'unattractive', you may not get into a top house, but so what?! So many wonderful women are in all the houses!
