Every new chapter starts by a absolute bottom of the ranks cause they need members and therefore can’t cant be selective. To assume they would move up to middle tier would mean at LEAST passing SK, Theta, and GPhi which is not only unheard of but is also just ridiculous. No matter how strong a sorority is nationally, that doesn’t influence their rank at any school in particular. For example, Tri Delt is a top house in many southern schools and Alpha Phi is popular on the west coast but not so much on the east coast. Theta and Pi Phi are way top at ASU, and Kappa is huge in the north east. For that matter I’m pretty sure Chi O is the literal largest sorority in the country, but none of those determine a chapters rank in their own school. Rankings are developed over years and the higher tiered houses usually have the privilege of being more selective with PNMs because they get chosen as a first choice on rush rankings the most and have the most selection. DZ will start off awkward but similarly to SK they will probably be very involved in philanthropy events for other houses and have a house. They’ll be bottom tier until they can build a reputation for themselves (which is really only done when a house develops an overall vibe and personality) and only then will they be moving anywhere in ranks.
