What do you think the sororities do with all the pnm's registration information? Why do you think all that's required for all pnm's? It always has been, and used to determine round 2 invitations, for decades, except now the requirement for a pnm to have alumnae recs to get a bid has been eliminated at the national level, and so has extending the required legacy courtesies. So not having a rec is not an automatic cut like it used to be, and being a legacy does not require a sorority to invite her back for round 2 and have to cut another pnm to make room for her. So yeah, decisions have ALWAYS already been made before round 2 but the recent changes have made the process more equitable than ever for both pnm's and chapters. As far as pnm's already known by members, that is of course a factor, you can't unknow people and disregard impressions and memories they have already made on you in person, but it can work in pnm's favor or against it, a definite two-way street for known pnm's. Clemson is two thirds in state students and the big out of state chunk comes from NC, GA, NY and NJ, and the sorority memberships reflect the same make up, so sororities have members that will already know girls from their areas, and their opinions, as voting sorority sisters, have influence in chapter voting. But pnm's WOULD NEVER make decisions ahead of recruitment, would they? They wouldn't go onto greekrank, or tiktok, or pay attention to 'ranks' and focus on a few sets of Greek letters to make decisions about sororities without ever meeting a sorority member? No way LOL.
