I have had multiple jobs and have dressed appropriately for all of them. There is a difference between professionalism, and blindly following orders when there is no need to do so other than to pursue cult mentality. Clearly you haven't been to many job interviews if you are under the false belief that they mandate what you can and cannot wear down to the color of your socks.
