<strong>Subject:</strong><br />is this a 2018 “slam book”?<br /><br /> Poster Message:
I’m sure most who post here are are not familiar with Slam Books. Pre computers, Middle Schoolers were known to pass around “Slam Books”; they were notebooks with a classmates name at the top of each page and other students rated them and wrote things about them. Slam Books were an anonymous way to Slam some students while praising your friends...all without anyone knowing how cruel you really were...unless you had distinctive hand writing and were not bright enough to alter it! I am not seeing much difference in the old Slam Book and the ratings of the fraternities and sororities. Seems a bit immature to me. I guess we were more accepting of a diverse membership back in the 1970’s. The West Park sororities actually socialized together in the median every Friday Afternoon (Friday Afternoon Club) We cheered each other on, were supportive of each other; I don’t ever remember hearing anyone make the kind of comments ore “rate” another sorority of fraternity like this. Guess I do not see how this helps Greek Life as a whole. It sure looks pretty shallow to me.
