1) Legacy is mostly irrelevant now. Almost every single national sorority has eliminated required courtesies for legacies and girls have to get in on their own merits. There are far too many legacies now for it to be a stand out quality anymore. 2) Legacy can mean something to a chapter if the legacy is from that specific chapter and the ties are close. Connections are what counts, which are not the same as legacy. 3) DO let your legacy house know that you are rushing, it will not hurt a thing. There are legacy introduction forms and rec writers can reiterate it. BUT DON'T let any other sororities know, so keep legacy status off registration forms and explain to rec writers not to mention it. This is to make sure that it will not sabotage chances at the non-legacy houses. 4) Look up the national legacy policy for the sororities in question so you know where you stand and also if you actually are considered a legacy for that sorority; every national defines legacy differently. Don't assume.
