I tend to look at it this way…everyone who Rushes owes it to themselves to get through Philanthropy & Sisterhood before deciding to just drop because you will meet more girls and you can change your mind about a house when you go back and hear more/learn more about them especially when you go back, the nerves have calmed, and you have more focus on what you are wanting and looking for in a sorority. You can ask your questions and talk about more and LET THEM KNOW you like it there. Some of these girls don’t always know you want to be there. I don’t care what house it is. Also, if you are wanting to be in a house just because it’s a certain name, you are setting yourself up for failure because a sorority is not just the name or the house you get to live in, it’s the girls/women who make up the house and all that goes along with it- maintaining a certain GPA, philanthropic hours, etc. Yes, there is the fun and social part, but it seems like some PNMs may be missing out on what being apart of a sorority is about and how hard it is for the houses with over 2k girls going through. I don’t think it’s funny to say someone will want to take your place because there are girls who are looking forward to being apart of a sorority for the right reasons and get it and absolutely WILL take your place. I don’t say that to be rude; it’s the reality.
