This is not high school, it is a different peer group altogether. The sororities are social clubs that are choosing their members, it's not a sign up sheet for the pnm's. This is often the first taste of the real world that girls are getting and it's harder for some than for others. No, it's not a mutual process until the pref round. A lot of pnm's drop themselves from recruitment and say that they were dropped by all, but they were only dropped by the ones they thought they wanted initially. So take 'completely dropped' with a grain of salt. Yes, some get actually completely dropped; not everyone rushes well and some pnm's do have a closed mind attitude that comes across. Talk about off putting. Anyone complaining about having one house left is kind of missing the point. The sororities are far more similar than they are different and one house is all you can get a bid to. The goal is not to collect a full card each round but every year some girls only focus on that. The four most selective release more than 75% at each round. This is no way means that the other houses are not selective or that you must settle for something less than. That's ridiculous. EVERYONE coming in has a top GPA, EVERYONE has a top resume and leadership positions, EVERYONE is pretty and social, and the houses are FILLED with them. Don't let an emotional decision destroy this chance for you, and don't compare your rush to anybody else's.
