#1 if you are worried about not having enough money I would be worried about joining a sorority. Joining a sorority is expensive it is around $1300 for your new member dues and around $1600 a year to be a member. This is not including expensive fines and late fees. This also does not include all of the outfits required. Each summer I spent on average $500 on recruitment clothing. Then I had to get my nails and hair and eyelashes done. Plus buying outfits for all the date parties and formals and just general sorority merchandise (like philo shirts) #2 It is super obvious who is wealthy and who isn’t. Simple questions like “do you have any hobbies?” or “what did you do this summer?” really help. #3 of course they care. They aren’t going to give a bid to someone who can’t afford dues. Honestly if you mention being scared of paying dues or if you are worried about it they take note of that. Sororities are all about making money. #4 I know zip code cuts can be a thing. Idk what chapters do them but I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot did. It is a pretty common nation sorority thing.
